Since 2012, at Belgicast we have assumed a firm commitment to sustainability, materialized in the annual publication of our Sustainability Report. This exercise in transparency not only reflects our activity, but also our responsibility towards the environment, society and future generations.
As an entity adhering to the United Nations Global Compact, we align our strategy with its ten principles regarding human rights, labor standards, the environment and the fight against corruption. In addition, we actively contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially those linked to water, environmental sustainability and innovation.
In a global context where more than 2.2 billion people lack access to safe drinking water and where water scarcity already affects billions of people each year, the role of companies in the water sector is more relevant than ever. The efficient, responsible and innovative management of this resource has become a key pillar for sustainable development.
Our Sustainability Reports collect not only indicators and results, but also the impact of our actions. Through them, we evaluate our environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance, establish measurable objectives and promote continuous improvement in all our processes.
The preparation of this report also responds to a growing global trend: more and more organizations are integrating sustainability into the core of their strategy. According to the Global Compact itself, thousands of companies around the world already report their progress in sustainability as part of their commitment to a more ethical, transparent and resilient economy.
