We are pleased to announce the commissioning of a pioneering project at our facilities in the Basque Country, integrating a 1,044 kWh smart energy storage system with 617 kWp of peak photovoltaic capacity.
From University to Industry: Academic Innovation with Real-World Impact
A key aspect of this initiative is its origin. The project was developed by Julen Bernardo during his internship at our plant as part of his Bachelor's Degree Final Project in Industrial Engineering at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), and successfully implemented with the valuable technical collaboration of Grupo Bikote Solar.
Strong Return on Investment and Strategic Resilience
In addition to supporting our ambitious decarbonisation goals and reducing our environmental footprint, the installation stands out for its strong economic performance, with an estimated return on investment of less than three years.
By combining solar power generation with state-of-the-art battery technology, the system enables us to:
