The Jorf Lasfar SWRO plant in Morocco, with a capacity of 75,800 m³/day, incorporates advanced technology and relies on Belgicast valves to guarantee efficiency, reliability and water quality.
Final client: Jorf Lasfar SWRO Project type: Desalination
The Jorf Lasfar SWRO desalination plant, located in Morocco, is a technological benchmark in the production of drinking and industrial water from seawater. With a capacity of 75,800 m³/day, the plant incorporates state-of-the-art systems to guarantee high efficiency and sustainability.
Its main innovations include energy recovery devices and an advanced pretreatment system based on DAF (dissolved air flotation) and ultrafiltration, which allows optimizing the desalination process and improving the quality of the water produced.
For this project, Belgicast supplied approximately 500 butterfly valves up to DN 2000, in manual, electric and pneumatic versions, adapted to the specific control and operation needs of the plant.
Key Data:
- Capacity: 75,800 m³/day
- Seawater salinity: TDS = 37,000 mg/l
- Product water quality:
Chloride (Cl) < 200 mg/l
Boron (B) < 1 mg/l
- End use: Potable and industrial water
Key Benefits:
- Improved energy efficiency thanks to integrated recovery systems
- High quality of treated water, suitable for human and industrial consumption
- Reliability and durability with large valves adapted to demanding marine environments
