Our History
Discover Belgicast's journey and evolution, showcasing our commitment to innovation, quality, and excellence in the casting industry.
In 1957, BELGICAST began manufacturing valves for the shipbuilding sector. We continued in that sector until the arrival of the oil crisis in the early 1980s, which led to the closure of a number of companies. That was when BELGICAST diversified its product range, focusing on a market that was not so well known at that time: the water market. This is how the resilient seated gate valve for piping drinking water was created at Belgicast.
Thanks to said valve’s innovative design, BELGICAST has achieved great success and made its brand and products known throughout the world. In 1995, it became part of the Tyco Group. In 2010, Tyco Waterworks became TALIS.
Following years of perfection and fine tuning, the resilient seated gate valve is now an essential product for piping of quality, safe, and long-lasting water.
In addition to the above mentioned product, a full range of accessories (including flanges, universal joints, intake collars, etc.) are all available for connecting valves with different types of pipe materials.
The efforts made in the development of Butterfly valves and Check valves has allowed BELGICAST to position itself as a leader in markets that were previously alien to the company, such as the Desalination and District cooling markets.
In 2023, BELGICAST was acquired together with Bayard by AVK Holding, a Danish industrial group, market leader in Valves for the water industry.
