To achieve this, we have launched four projects:
· 880 photovoltaic panels installed at the Zabalondo Plant. That it is already a reality. And it assumes:
- Energy savings of 34.29%,
- Co2 emissions avoided: 151.39 Tn CO2/year
- Number of trees NOT felled: 7,264 trees/year
· 120 photovoltaic panels installed in Toledo. What they will mean:
- Energy savings of 48.20%,
- Co2 emissions avoided: 36.18 Tn CO2/year
- Number of trees NOT felled: 1,736 trees/year
· The company's fleet is being replaced by plug-in hybrid electric cars. This will mean a reduction of 40% of the annual cost and 80% of CO2 emissions. 4 electric charging points have been placed in the parking lot at the entrance of Zabalondo and 1 point will be placed in Toledo.
· And the rest of the electrical energy consumed, we have contracted energy with Green Origin Guarantee, from renewable energies and high efficiency cogeneration, which have 0 CO2à neutral CO2 emissions.
Finally, co2 emissions from gas consumption, Belgicast has decided to offset part of them, with the project of absorbing carbon dioxide through tree planting.
These and other measures that we will be carried out during this fiscal year, will be the axis of transformation towards a Company that seeks economic balance, sustainable industrial development, health, equity and care for the Environment.
